Man is arrested after attempting to break into a house in Colíder, Mato Grosso A man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday (14), around 2:40 am, after breaking into the backyard of a residence and trying to break down doors and walls of the house in the Boa Esperança neighborhood, in Colíder (634 km from Cuiabá). The victim, a 55-year-old woman, screamed for help from inside the residence when the Military Police arrived at the scene. According to the police report, the garrison was called via 190 and, upon arriving at the house, found the suspect — an indigenous man — trying to escape through the back, climbing on a washing machine. He ignored the police orders to get down and had to be restrained with moderate force. Still according to the military, the man was visibly drunk and had scratches on his face, arms and legs, possibly caused by the attempted break-ins. He was arrested and taken to the Civil Police Station for the appropriate measures. No one was injured in the residence.
