Brasileiros Exploram Técnicas de Irrigação Sustentável em Feira Agrícola em Portugal

Santarém, Portugal – Durante a Feira Nacional de Agricultura (FNA), realizada em Santarém, Portugal, o presidente da Associação dos Produtores de Feijão, Pulses, Colheitas Especiais e Irrigantes de Mato Grosso (Aprofir), Hugo Garcia, acompanhado pelo ministro da Agricultura de Portugal, José Manuel Fernandes, teve a oportunidade de conhecer de perto as práticas inovadoras de agricultura irrigada do país.

No evento, que teve como tema central "biosoluções", Garcia e Fernandes trocaram experiências sobre as técnicas de irrigação sustentável, com destaque para o sistema de Alqueva, o maior lago artificial da Europa. "Eles criaram uma estrutura para poder fazer a irrigação no país inteiro. É um lago que consegue irrigar Portugal inteiro, mesmo durante períodos de seca prolongada", explicou Garcia.

O ministro português detalhou as diferentes abordagens de irrigação adotadas no país, incluindo as charcas, que são reservatórios de água locais. "Temos os que chamamos de charcas, que são reservas de águas da própria exploração", disse Fernandes.

Garcia, reconhecido como um dos maiores defensores da irrigação no Brasil, ressaltou a importância da missão oficial organizada pelo Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária do Brasil (Mapa). "Essa é uma oportunidade grandiosa que estamos tendo de tratar a irrigação brasileira para o mundo", afirmou.

A participação do Brasil na FNA 2025, com um pavilhão próprio organizado pelo Mapa em parceria com o Ministério das Relações Exteriores (MRE), marca um esforço para ampliar os horizontes da agricultura brasileira e promover intercâmbios técnicos no cenário global.

A feira destacou as tecnologias sustentáveis voltadas para o aumento da produtividade agrícola com menor impacto ambiental, alinhando-se com os esforços globais para promover a agricultura sustentável.
